The leaf litter serves as a good hiding place. In addition, the leaves release tannic and humic acids, thereby protecting the animals from bacteria or fungi.
It is an ideal substrate in tropical rainforest terrariums. The palm fiber gives your terrarium the appearance of the animals' natural habitat.
If necessary or for safety, you can also re-bake the leaf litter.
