Information about the snails
The Lissachatina reticulata is a very tame and curious species. A special feature of this species is that its shell is not smooth like other species, but has a ribbed structure. This is partly because it grows very quickly. The reticulata lays a lot of eggs. You must be able to handle this. Please note! This species is very sensitive to any changes in the terrarium or in the group. Therefore, it should be avoided to completely redecorate the terrarium frequently or to change the number of animals in the group when the animals are already adults. This means not removing adult animals from the group or adding new adults. Reticulata often reacts to this with inactivity, withdrawing far into the shell, up to the death of the entire group. However, adding or removing young animals from groups is not yet a problem. This species lays 150–500 eggs, look for clutches: every week.
They originally come from the rainforest in Africa. Therefore, they need high humidity and a high temperature. See details.
Details
The snails live between 4 and 7 years and can reach a shell length of up to 18 cm (usually around 15 cm). The exact name is: Lissachatina reticulata albino
