Oniscus asellus “Common Silverfish”

This species of isopod is ideal for all native snail species! It is just as native as your snail keepers, so they make a great team. This species of isopod is also not as invasive as our tropical Porcellio.

The little helpers eat leftover food, leaves, plant material, and snail droppings. They also like to dig in the soil, thus ensuring a healthy climate in your terrarium.

You will receive a box of 15 individuals in various sizes. They reproduce well.

Adults can grow up to 2.5 cm.

We wouldn't want to say that isopods are stupid... however, they tend to drown if your snail bathing dish is too shallow, so either place it on an elevated surface or put a stick in it so they can crawl back out if they get lost.
