Description
Archachatina marginata ovum albino house acromelanic
is one of the largest species of giant African land snails. It lays up to 12 eggs per clutch. This large snail reaches a shell length of 12 cm. Since they originally come from the African rainforest, they need higher humidity and warmer temperatures. The snails can live for up to 12 years. The terrarium or enclosure should be adapted to the size of the snail. You can find a complete set for this snail and everything you need to keep giant African land snails in our shop under the relevant category. Different snail species should not be kept together in one terrarium. Archachatina marginata ovum snails can be kept together with other color varieties of the Archachatina marginata ovum species. The recommended group size for this species is at least 3 snails. If you’re unsure, we recommend booking a snail video call through our shop. We can then ask you questions to find out which species is right for you or whether you have set everything up correctly for your species. You can find more information on keeping snails on our YouTube channel: Slimeside, on our social media accounts, on Instagram and TikTok. If you’d like to connect with other snail keepers, join us on Discord. You can find more information on keeping snails in the “Giant African Land Snail Information” section here on the site.
“Captive-Bred Snails” is the name of this section. This snail is captive-bred, so it cannot have any unwanted guests that are found exclusively in Africa.
Snail shipping: Our snails travel first class! In summer and winter, when temperatures are extreme, we sometimes wait a few days before shipping, for the animals’ sake. Please don’t ask us for daily status updates. We make sure the animals arrive safely, and we’re the only land snail shop to offer courier delivery, as this is the gentlest option for the animals. In winter, winter packaging is included in the shipping price. As soon as it gets cold, the animals will be shipped to you with a heat pack and in a polystyrene box.
When the animals arrive, remember to let them acclimatize at room temperature for half an hour to 45 minutes first. You know that everything at Slimeside always takes a little longer. Give your snails the time they need.
Warm regards,
Your SlimeSide team
